How to Lower your Blood Sugar with this Amazing Mineral!

How to Lower your Blood Sugar with this Amazing Mineral!

For those that struggle with their blood sugar whether you are diabetic, gestational diabetic, or pre-diabetic. I would like to share my journey and how I learned about the importance of regulating your blood sugar. My husband being a type 1 diabetic has taught me so much on this issue, I get to see it first hand, sometimes more often than it should as he goes hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) from time to time. But when he is hyperglycemic (high blood sugar) it is hard to tell but I assure you the effects are very damaging over a long term. But still, both situations are very dangerous to be in. I didn’t quite know how to help him or how to deal with it until I became a gestational diabetic when I was pregnant with our 2nd daughter. Then, from that experience, I was able to fully comprehend and empathize with him. I consider it to be a mixed blessing. Find out  How to Lower your Blood Sugar with this Amazing Mineral!

What the Doctors Said

While I was a gestational diabetic I became very frustrated with conventional doctors, I was fear-mongered and lectured when I asked about adding natural alternatives to my diet rather than the unhealthy choices but instead, they promoted diet pop and made me ration out my food.  The doctors gave me a strict regime to follow documenting everything I ate, and to follow the nutritional guidelines. So I did for two weeks until I started actually losing weight, something you don’t want to do when you’re pregnant. Actually, what was happening was I was producing ketones, and the fat was breaking down into my urine. A very bad situation to be in, if left untreated and built up to the extreme this can cause death. So I went back to the doctor and told them I will manage my own diet, of course, they threatened me saying I will have to take insulin injections if I don’t keep my sugar under control and my baby would be born very large, as the excess sugar is transferred to the baby. So I began reading up on how to maintain your blood sugar naturally and I came across so many articles it was overwhelming and frankly, a lot of products are quite deceitful and gimmicky.

A light at the end of the tunnel!

Finally, after some research and confirmation from my naturopath, I stumbled across Chromium. It is a trace mineral found naturally in our bodies and with all the processed food today, especially carbohydrates which spike our blood sugar, most people are deprived of Chromium. Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t know this simple hack and it may not cure you of your condition but Chromium can help to get your levels in control, whether you are prone to be hyper or hypo, it knows what to do as it is naturally found in our bodies.

    Hi Dawna,

I’m a type 2 diabetic so naturally I’m interested in any natural methods to control blood glucose levels.
I had not heard about the effects of Chromium as far as its effects on glucose control.

But I will definitely look at adding this to my list of supplements!

Hi there thanks for the comment! Yes, Chromium is essential to regulate our blood sugar so it might help you. I will be adding a post about certain foods that help normalize blood sugar as well, so follow my social media for updates! Cheers!

Hi, Dawna I too am in the same holistic world as you and have found many interesting facts about our body because of home health problems and was forced to look elsewhere.

You are totally right about the western medical world there was no help there. The European countries are far more advanced than we are, especially the Chines and Japanese herbal remedies in these countries go back generations and are used in caring for their patients like acupuncture. Acupuncture can be used in surgery where there are no after effects and the recovery of their patients are minimal. Delivering a baby can be totally pain-free even a c-section

I take my hat off to you for sharing with other your own experiences and help change mindsets. Maybe this will help our medical world to stand up and take notice and make changes. It is happening but at a very slow pace.

Hi Linda thanks for the comment! I love acupuncture! I appreciate your thoughts and couldn’t agree more, we do need a change and I think people are starting to become more aware that conventional treatment doesn’t help much. It just numbs the problem and does not address the root cause. In the East, they’ve been treating people successfully for thousands of years. I am so inspired and amazed of their modalities and the best part is they actually work! So hopefully this will plant a seed in people’s minds who are curious about holistic modalities.
