How does your Immune System work?

The immune system is a structure made up of cells, tissues and organs that collectively opposes any tiny organisms such as bacteria, parasites and fungi that can cause diseases. Your immune system main task is to prevent you from falling ill, and it does that by keeping out the harmful organisms, or, unable to do so, pursue the “invader” and eliminate it. However, it can be weakened drastically, caused by stress, poor diets, and many other variables. When your immune system is weakened, you become more prone to be inflicted with sickness.
“Disorders of the immune system can result in autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer. Immunodeficiency occurs when the immune system is less active than normal, resulting in recurring and life-threatening infections”. (Wikipedia)
